Introduction
This is both an independent department as well as a complement to the
Department of Neurophysiology, and caters to both OPD and admitted
cases, emergencies and elective Neurosurgery cases. A good operating
microscope enables the consultant to perform Micro neurosurgeries.
Efforts are being made to procure equipment for stereo tactic
Neurosurgery and Cavitron Ultrasound Surgical Aspirator (CUSA) which
would reduce the intra-operative trauma to the patients by a
considerable extent as well as reduce operative time and strain to the
Neurosurgeon. The department is headed by Dr. S. S. Mahantshetti,
M.Ch, with the assistance of faculty members as in the list.
