Introduction

This department has now become a well-known entity with its own identity in the form of an independent out-patient clinic, excellent diagnostic facilities which include a high-end CT Scan, a 17 channel EEC Recorder, EMG and nerve conduction studies with facilities for somatosensory, visual and auditory evoked potentials. Therapeutically. the department is equipped to handle both emergencies and "cold" cases with facilities for plasmapheresis and even Botulinum Toxin Therapy for focal dystonias such as hemi Facial spasm, blepharospasm and to torticollis. The sophisticated ICU has been routinely handling strokes and other neurological emergencies.

Department of Neurology is one of the most vital department which has been working since the inception of this hospital. We have three qualified MI time Neurologists running the regular out-patient clinic from Monday to Saturday, Emergency
cover for acute neurological events like stroke, epilepsy, neuro-infections, etc., is available round the dock on all days through casualty, wherein neurologists will be directly involved in evaluation of the patient & decision making.

The department has state of the art clinical neurophysiological equipment consisting of an 18 channel Analog EEG machine S a 32 channel digital EEG system. The digital EEG system has video telemetry capability which is of immense help in documenting the clinical manifestations of the abnormal cerebral electrical discharges. In addition, there is an 8 channel EMG - EP system wherein nerve conductions, electromyography & all the evoked potentials.
