CSSD:-  Central Sterile Supply Department.

The purpose of this CSSD is to prepare and furnish other departments with sterile equipment and supplies needed in the patients care for High tech  cardiac OT,  Cath lab, ITU, Dialysis, all wards & all departments. Previously before 1993 we all used to prepare all things in the wards only, it was affecting quality care service provided to the patient. So need is to felt to establishing the well equipped C.S.S.D. with upgrading knowledge and technologies for health care delivery system. The importance of sterile supply department in terms of reducing hospital infection, providing quality medical care and reducing operating cost. Keeping all these in mind the small C.S.S.D. was started under the guidance of Mr. Suresh Saler, Executive Nursing Adviser in the year 1993. attached to the operation theatre. And from the year 1997. we started using the well equipped C.S.S.D. in new hospital. which is located in the ground floor in the service block wing near Medical Record Office.

C.S.S.D. Functions for 24 hours even in the holidays. We are available to give anything and any time what even the procedure tray is required. We have kept few trays in the wards itself because the staff should not face any difficulties during the emergency. Twice a day we go round to all the wards and collect all the unsterile trays and supply sterile trays and dressing material.

Machines which are present in C.S.S.D.

Regular maintenance of the machines will be done by the Bio-Medical engineers.
