Overview
Department of Information Technology was previously known as
EDP Dept. and was renamed and relocated at newly furnished
location with all necessary upgradations.
The new
Information Technology premise was inaugurated by Dr.
Balveer Reddy, Vice Chancellor of Visvesvaraya
Technological University, and Belgaum on 26th January
2006.

The KLES
HOSPTIAL & MRC’s IT Department provides support for the use
and development of information and communications
technologies to facilitate and expediate the patient
services. We have state of the art technologies to manage
and maintain the systems with professional and quality
services in the health care delivery system.
Servers:
Servers
like Application Server, Mail Exchange server, Data base
server, Anti-Virus and Firewall Server and Web Server
includes Dicom and with Telemedicine Application with a
dedicated Data base server.
Having
Five dedicated server to cater certain specified programs
and also to meet a health working environment, Three tier
architecture is created with the introduction of new HIS/HIMS
software where about 27 different modules have been created
to integrated the entire Hospital Services to be delivered
through system based management.

KLES
Hospital is under MD&CEO’s guidance, it has been
systematically upgrading various latest Information and
Communication Technologies whereby the patient services can
be supported across the globe by transferring the data to
the specified locations. This has been taken up considering
the demands of the patient care that is happening globally
considering the future of Medical Tourism and its needs over
the health care delivery system.

Desk Support
The Help
Desk is the first contact point in IT enabled services for
patients and their attendants to get patient stay
information for quick access to see their kith and kin.
For staff
to register any complaint related to IT services,, we have
very enthusiastic team to address it at the quickest
possible time apart from recording it into our system to
monitor the progress and efficiency of the IT team.
These
will range from a major issue affecting many users across
the hospital to individual user problems or using software,
hardware or upgrades.
Maintenance,
support and on going development of enterprise and
departmental applications.
IT is
responsible for the implementation and on going support of
applications designed to meet management needs. Some
development is undertaken within the department but major
enterprise applications are purchased from external parties.
Support for
staff in the selection, acquisition and implementation of
new technology.
By
assisting hospital staff in the acquisition of new
applications or technology, ITS attempts to ensure that all
acquisitions will optimally meet the needs of the user and
will effectively utilise the existing hospital
infrastructures.
Provision of
specialist IT support for PCs, servers and communications
infrastructure.
KLES
HOSPITAL & MRC has a comprehensive and complex ICT
infrastructure which includes a fleet of over 200 systems.
Extensive local area networks (LAN) across each of the
floors, a wide area network (WAN) connecting the PC’s and
approximately 5 servers. Staff in the Technology and
Operations team are technically trained and experienced to
provide support and administration for this infrastructure.
Training for
staff to use of IT and specific applications – round the
clock support team.
As new
applications are implemented or existing applications
upgraded IT provides training services to meet the needs of
all staff with round the clock IT team presence.
