1500 - Bedded KLES Hospital is not just "one more" hospital. It is an institution for comprehensive and dedicated medical care. Conceptualized by a visionary, meticulously planned and painstakingly designed, KLES Hospital & Medical Research Centre sets ultimate standards in both medical treatment and patient comfort.

In due course of time, other super-specialties like  Oncology,  Endocrinology  and Gastroenterology would be added to the hospital services. There is a special Child Development Clinic for children with physical and mental disabilities, a well-equipped Physiotherapy Unit, a separate department of Orthodics and Prosthetics, a Speech Therapy Centre and other facilities. 

There are trained and qualified dietitians to provide dietary advice to patients and a team of medical social workers to provide emotional support to patients, cater to their non-medical requirements and for counseling where necessary. The 24-hour services are of course headed by the Accident & Emergency but include the Pharmacy, the Laboratories, the X-Ray and CT Scan units, and the Blood Bank. The philosophy of the Hospital has been that all the required medical facilities be made available under one roof so that the patient need not look elsewhere for any aspect of his care.

Operation Theatre

The main operation theatre complex contains nine theatres (an additional eight are planned) with an elaborate built-in system for graded clean zones ensuring asepsis and sterility. The OT complex incorporates concepts hitherto found only in textbooks of hospital planning, including a one-way flow of traffic, separate clean, super-clean and dirty corridors and features that delight the surgeon and provide better care to the patient. General purpose theatres have 5-micron air filters while the high technology theatres have 2-micron filters and motorized, state of the art electronically controlled operating tables and matching overhead operating lamps. The sophisticated air-conditioning and ventilation system ensures at least 30 total air changes per hour in each OT. The theatre design and functioning has attracted much attention from surgeons and hospital planners all over and is bound to become a model for OT complexes of the future.
